Enforcement action on leasehold ground rents

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has launched enforcement action involving four leading housing developers: Barratt Developments, Countryside Properties, Persimmon Homes and Taylor Wimpey. It is believed the developers may have broken consumer protection law relating to ground rents in leasehold contracts. This article from Today’s Conveyancer explains that the CMA has written to the developers outlining the concerns and request further information, the evidence will then be assessed.
